Overview

A 185 km Gravel Bikepacking Adventure from the Umbrian Hills to the Tyrrhenian Sea. We'll depart from Solomeo on May 8th and, after three stages, reach the seaside on Sunday the 10th. Along the way, we'll stay in small hotels, enjoying local food and wines. Our route will take us through hills, woods, and fields, leading us from Umbria into Tuscany, through the Val di Chiana and the Valle del Fiora. From there, we’ll cross some of the natural areas of the Maremma before finally arriving at the coast. We'll be riding on white and dirt roads, aiming to avoid asphalt and traffic as much as possible. The route may change even at the very last minute – this is an adventure designed for gravel bikes.

Highlights

A bikepacking adventure with friends

A bikepacking adventure with friends

L’Impresa Etrusca is an adventure to live with friends, crossing hills, woods and nature reserves. It is not a competition and there will be no rankings. We will ride together, waiting, supporting and encouraging those who go slower. There is no external technical assistance service. We will have to help each other. We will take essential luggage with us, either in bikepacking or on panniers.

We will need to be healthy and fit

We will ride 185 km in 3 stages, climbing 2700 meters in total. An adequate training is required. Presenting yourself at the start in optimal fit is an essential and necessary condition to participate. We must provide a valid competitive cycling medical certificate and we must be healthy.
